Frequently Asked Questions

BHRT is an acronym for Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy. It’s a type of hormone therapy used to help restore hormone levels (most commonly estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone) when they decline or become imbalanced—often during perimenopause/menopause (and in men with low testosterone). “Bioidentical” hormones are chemically processed in labs to have the same molecular structure as the hormones your body naturally makes. Since Bioidentical hormones fit the body’s hormone receptors the same way endogenous hormones do, they often offer better symptom relief with fewer side-effects as compared to synthetic hormones.

BHRT can be safe and effective when it’s prescribed appropriately and monitored with follow-ups and lab work. We’ll review your health history and discuss options that make sense for you.
